Thank you, Oakland!

I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust you have placed in me to serve as your next Mayor.

This is a historic moment for our city. Now, together, we begin the important work of building a safer, cleaner, and more united Oakland.

Our mayoral transition is underway, guided by a Transition Committee that brings together a broad cross-section of Oakland – including civic, labor, business, ethics, public safety, youth, housing, and faith leaders – who reflect the strength, resilience, and diversity of our city. Together, we are laying the foundation for an administration rooted in transparency, accountability, and results — and delivering on the priorities outlined in my Plan for the first 100-Days.

Members of the Transition Committee will also help convene issue-specific Working Groups — including Public Safety, Homelessness & Housing, and Economic Development — to ensure all constituencies can provide input and coordination across key priorities. These are just a few of the areas we’ll be focused on in the weeks ahead.

Residents have made it clear: they are ready for leadership that brings people together, tackles our toughest challenges, and delivers a change. There is more that unites us than divides us and together, we will build a government that works for the people.

This site will serve as a home for updates and announcements throughout the transition. I look forward to working with you to build the Oakland we know is possible.
